Grower - Aleks Klinec

< back

Just over the Italian border from Cormons you will find the Klinec family’s winery nestled in the beautiful hills of the Goriska Brda wine producing region. The small 5 hectare estate is run on bio-dynamic principles with the vineyards being planted to the regions historic varieties of Sivi Pinot (Pinot Grigio), Rebula (Ribolla Gialla), Verduc (Verduzzo), Malvazija (Malvasia), Tokaj (Friulano), Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot. All of the wines are traditionally made with the white wines fermenting on skins for between 7-14 days (depending on the vintage) and are then aged in a mix of large acacia, mulberry & cherry wood barrels. The wines receive a small splash of suplhur dioxide at bottling. The style here is of generosity allied to definition and freshness. We have shipped the Rebula, Sivi Pinot & Malvazija from the great 2007 vintage.
